Cd51 help needed

by kentmoore » Sun Dec 23, 2012 2:35 am

Ok guys here is what I have... Have a real nice CD51 with a CDM3 player. The computer has a version 3.0 chip in it. Every once and a while this box runs thru the checksum and ram tests. As it does this the player spins and you can here static thru the speakers. I originally thought that I would just switch everything over to the CD Pro player with the later MCC. I have a very nice juke that I switched the basket assembly from with the CD Pro player. After instillation of the later basket with the CD Pro player, I also updated the CCC with a Version 3.9 rom. Did the factory reboot and reset everything. After all adjustments were made, it is still doing the same thing as the CDM3 player. Keeps running thru checksum and ram tests, and static thru the speakers. I have tried 2 other CCCs. Seems no matter what I put in this juke I get the same thing. Any ideas? I was needing this for a present for Christmas. Originally I got this juke set up and played it for a couple days before this all started. Oh yes almost forgot. NO errors ever show up.

Power supply problems--no doubt ! BUT, it's not usually the board itself, just the plugs. Start at the transformer plug--remove each pin, one at a time --clean --re-form and re-install. If "brown" replace the pin ! Go all the way through the CCC, MCC And DBV plugs if used. Ron Rich

If you have done everything else, make sure you are using a 'properly wired and grounded outlet. Also make sure all your ground connections in the jukebox are conducting. The '3' player hated neon signs, the newer ones didn't like them much either, so check those green/yellow joints. Have you resoldered all the leads on the PS board?

So sorry for the late reply. I enjoy all the responses and help I receive here. I just had the flu and just didn't mess with it for a while. Got it all sorted out. Had one bad socket on one of the plugs. Reflowed everything while I was at it. So again with all of your great help, another one got sorted out. Thanks again!!
