Colonial HMV 101 in Teak

Hi everybody,

Last year I had picked up a teak 101 in great condition (as it had sat in a trunk for 5 decades) and had even posted snaps on this site ...and last week, came across this machine in the back of a junk shop.

I'm guessing it's a late model 101 probably from 1931.
It's condition is pretty bad with the wood being badly damaged and flaking.
The reproducer is missing. The one you see has been taken from a Swiss portable.

It doesn't play but may do so after a lot of work. I'm fondly hoping that it looks worse than it is!

The cabinet looks GOOD to me. The wood can't flake, it's solid teak, not veneer. The finish might be missing a bit here and there but it would clean up very well. Even wiping that machine over with a cloth soaked in Topps would radically improve it. It's a rare £500 machine so I would suggest buying it at the likely cheap price being asked!

Yes, on second thoughts the cabinet seems okay. I would need to get a number 4 reproducer for it though.
And the seller wants a 100$ for this....am probably going to pick it up later today.
