Rockola 474 power supply

by Serg » Tue Jan 19, 2016 6:05 pm

I am working on a Rockola 474, This is my first jukebox repair, I'm a 30 yr electronic tech. the led display and selection buttons are inoperable, not even lights, but machine can be made to manually play records. Since no power to display started out by checking P.S. the only voltage missing is 25 vac line, I traced it back to transformer and no 25 v, I know I should know this but can't remember should I be able to read the 25 volts at the transformer output or do I need to have a load on it?

Hi Serg,
Normally, you can read the output of a transformer, without a load ! Look for a "blowed fuze"---?? If not, and you are sure the primary voltage is good--the transformer is open :( Ron Rich

Thank you Ron, Its embarrassing to have to ask but its been a while since I've done analog. I thought I should be able to, hard part now is finding part number for transformer. Thank you for the quick response.
