No Power

by Bob » Fri Sep 26, 2008 12:19 am

I have a Seeburg 100- 77d Topaz. I have no power to the selection buttons. I can get the motor running an scanning , it scans twice with no record pickup. But I can lift the release lever an its stops, picks a record starts to play an rejects. It finishes scanning an stops. This unit has the red box in it. Why no power to the buttons.

Bob;

The first thing to do is to check if the +13 VDC supply in the PPC is working. There is a test point for it. It helps if you include in your subject what kind of jukebox it is.

well thats not it, I think its the red box. I pulled the box out checked the plugs. I plugged it back in ,nothing again. Pulled out the price card tried it that way. I have a friend that has a couple of boxes so Im going out there tomorrow to see if one of those will work. Does anyone know if I can use the black/gray box or have to use the red one like i have now.

The black and gray boxes are completely different and are not interchangeable with the red box.

If you have "electronic skills", I suggest that you might want to purchase a copy of Tony's "Seeburg Red Box and MCU systems" Book. There is info there that can really help you in trouble-shooting both of those selection systems. Check out his "Seeburg web-site" at http://home.pacbell.net/fmillera -Ron Rich

I have purchased the red book last week, should be here tomorrow or Friday. Have a friend that is good in electronics. I will let you know what we found out.
