Hi from newbie with my Rockola pics

Hi guys,
After years of dreaming of owning a jukebox, i finally bought a fully restored Rockola 1494 last weekend !

I chose this model because of its slim size , as i havent much space in my small house .
I bought it from a restorer in Leicestershire UK, who completely stripped it, re-veneered the cabinet, all the chrome was replated, all the painted parts have been resprayed, new buttons and trim,, and all the mechanics and electrics have been checked and serviced..
Im really pleased
Anybody got any tips or info on this model ?

Hi Soulboy, welcome to the board.
Nice machine.

What you have there is a 1962 model which were originally designed to be wall mounted. We see a lot on those stands, I've no idea how stable they are but there's a lot of weight on them. The production run of that model was close to 2000 and it shares some components with other models so spares in the future should not be a problem.
I'm no expert just an enthusiast. These machines were designed for hard work, many problems identified on here are from lack of use. As this has recently been refurbished, I'd check that all the selections work, both A and B sides.

There are several contributors to this board with a wealth of knowledge who would be better able to give you advice. But I'd suggest you obtain a "proper"service manual and a lubrication chart if you've not them, if you intend to maintain it yourself. These in domestic use do not need frequent lubrication, but when they do, it has to be the "right oil."

If you've some WD40...Thow it away! Or at least keep it well away from your jukebox.

I too wondered how stable it would be on the stand, but it seems very sturdy and looks like an Alien on spindly legs

id have been a bit concerned about having such a huge weight bolted to my wall
