Seeburg M100C - need grill cloth installation help

Can someone please describe how the original grill cloth was installed. There was a thin strip of masonite that was removed from the top part of the speaker board. This strip was tacked to the speaker board and somehow held the top edge of the grill cloth in place. How should this strip be installed in relation to the cloth? Does it go over the top edge of the cloth with the cloth folded under the back edge of the strip? Or is there another way to correctly install it. I don't think the strip should be seen as viewed from the front of the speaker. Help and possible picture is appreciated.

Makes little to no difference--that piece was attached just to cover up the rough end of the grill cloth--
