I hope you have a big house. You'll need it if you find all of these New Orthophonics. I have three of them myself (SHF-4, SHF-6 and SHF-8). :D

BTW, all of these you are looking for are 1958 models.

Don't worry Larry, I have plenty of room for em. If you want to talk about taking up a lot of room, try vintage automobiles. I have 6 here right now, and those REALLY take up a lot of room  I have 3 outbuildings just to store those and the spare parts! The Hi-Fis are
a pleasure to collect in comparison, they are pretty cheap, small and 99% of the time in near mint condition from sitting in climate controlled living rooms their entire life...ahhhhh nice!

The only difficulty I have come across with the hi-fis is talking the wife into letting me put a new one in yet ANOTHER room! LOL! I just tell her HEY we need one for the living room, one for the dinning room, each bedroom, the sunroom, the basement !...LOL

Yes, I really do like the `57-`58 era RCA's the most...doesn't everyone?

Yes, the RCA 57 and 58 models are definitely the very best RCA ever produced. And they have the best cabinets too. I prefer the blonde wood models over mahogany, but would love to find one in maple and in walnut wood finishes. I guess 95 percent of those you see on eBay are in mahogany, so I guess that was RCA's best selling color.

You can never have too many record players....

I have at least one Maggie console in each of four bedrooms, one in the open family room, two in the kitchen, and two in the living room. That doesn't include the heavy suitcase portables, and about six consoles and drum table units in the garage.

Time to enroll in that 12-step reduction program. Akai, Roberts, Webcor, Teac Reel-to-Reels, cassette decks...Marantz, Pioneer, Technics, Sansui turntables. What can one person do with all this stuff??? It's getting out of control. --BB

I have two RCAs in the living room (one is a console), an RCA console in the kitchen, and three players in my bedroom. One of them is a console and the other set is a V-M Fidelis. All but two of my players are blonde finish. I find it difficult to get around to playing all six.

I have a SHF-8 that does work but struggles to get going. Blonde with the gold legs. I have more pics I can send. While the legs come off and it would pack down as not too big it would also not be cheap to ship. Where are you? I am in Eugene, Oregon.

I have a bigger, also blonde, HiFi I use for my regular LP fix (and who doesn't love Stan Freberg's take?).

I am deaccessioning (the AMI juke is gone) I have a tear drop bakelite GE turntable I will be selling and a pair of Transoceanics as well as some lower end solid state desk radios once I get pics taken.

Gabh an latha,
Richard

I've studied these posts and in my opinion several contributors are suffering from a medical condition called "GAS."

GEAR ACQUISITION SYNDROME

it's an ailment also very common amongst fellow saxophone players.

There's no cure for it, but it's rarely fatal.

Is the black mink style still against available? I'm looking to start a collection and i think that model would be an awesome one to start it off with, especially that style.
