'70's GE console

by Radiotvnut » Wed Feb 02, 2011 12:01 am

This is the 3rd and final console from the flea market and, honestly, the only reason I took it was to get the two tube type units that I posted about earlier. This one is an early '70's GE phonograph/8-track/radio combo that is mostly plastic with a particleboard top. It has life; but, there is an issue with the dial string and the controls need cleaning. The changer could also use a stylus. If I can fix this one cheap enough, I'll probably find it a new home because consoles of this era really don't do much for me.

I generally did not like the GE changers after 1967, but this one has an unusual undocumented feature.

Move the control to REJ, and then to OFF, and it will restart the record that is playing at the beginning.
