Ron
Just picked this one up, gripper arm was frozen and had to disassemble, clean, lubricate and re-assemble.
The cover for the junction box relays/price unit was removed to burnish and clean contacts and has not been replaced yet.
The lamp is good and does "flash" when a selection is made,

It appears you are referring to the jumpered plug in the sockets marked "receiver" and yes, mine does have one there, I will remove it, Deoxit it and re-seat.

Hi Darrell,
I assume that the "push buttons" are, in fact plugged in-- Have you checked the keyboard --all switches, and the ladder circuit ? Ron Rich
Just hada thunk-- Doesn't the lamp flash at the point of energizing the WI hammer ? If my thinking is correct (only on my first cup of coffee !), that would indicate that either the wobble plate or hammer coil might be shorted ??

Morning Ron
After burnishing the stop relay contacts a second time and removing and using Deoxit on the jumppered plug, I now have a new problem, the solenoid will not hold the keys down?
"I assume that the "push buttons" are, in fact plugged in" Yes they are plugged in. "Have you checked the keyboard --all switches, and the ladder circuit ?" This needs to be done.
"Doesn't the lamp flash at the point of energizing the WI hammer ?" That is my understanding.
" If my thinking is correct (only on my first cup of coffee !), that would indicate that either the wobble plate or hammer coil might be shorted ??" Need to check.
Now go for that second cup

Ron
I do not see any caps in the write in unit assembly, just some resistors.
Don't let it get you down, my thoughts always seem to be a little cloudy

Solenoid issue resolved. Stepper plug was in contact with contacts in the WI assembly unit

As to a shorted coils, I doubt if all 4 coils would be shorted at the same time???? I am going to remove the keyboard and clean it up while I trace backwards to find out why the coils will not fire and hammer a pin down?

Hi Darrell,
1.5 cups of coffee so far this AM--
Question--what are you calling the "Write in assembly" ? As I am no way as familiar with RO's, as I am with Seeburgs. and do not have a Service Manual--I just can not place an "assembly" in a RO, that was so named ? Ron Rich (sip)

Morning Ron
Printer is acting up and will not scan or I would attach pictures of "Write-In Unit Assembly". I could not figure out how to attach to a PM, so emailed you a PDF of the manual. The "Write-In Unit Assembly" is shown on PDF pages 93-94 and manual pages 16-17.
Finish the other .5 cup of coffee
