AMi H/Iproblem ?

by Ron Rich » Wed Jan 07, 2015 5:26 pm

Hi All,
I stumbled into a problem with an AMi H, yesterday that I can't solve-- Everything except the "scan push-button" on the "service switch box", on the mechanism, works fine. That button, when pushed, is supposed to start the scan motor, for all the time it's held down--but nothing happens when I push it. The schematic I have shows it as a single set of contacts, directly to the motor. Upon looking at the thing, I find it has two sets of contacts ? ( yes, I'm sure contacts were clean, and "making"). Anyone ever see this problem before, or have a later (?) schematic showing the switch operation ?
TIA !

If the mechanism is scanning, does the switch that is next to the button turn off the motor? It turns off power to the DC motors. The best I remember there are 2 plugs that goes into this switch box.

Ron, from what I recall, that rotate button is only enabled when the gripper is over the magazine. The reason for that is obvious. So check the over-center contacts actuated by the gripper cam. When I get our !$#%@ Christmas tree out of the way, I'll be able to check that on my I-200 whenever that will be :-).

Hi Guys,
Thanks--yes--two "plugs" there--and yes, gripper where it should be--Mag will rotate if either a selection is made, or I manually release the scan control---toggle switch also works correctly--stops motor.
