Building in a phono pre-amp..?

I have taken a nice, Garrard AT6 changer from an old, rat-eaten radiogram cabinet. Thanks to the great advice from user 'Record-changer' I have got the changer working a treat. Now I would like to mount the unit in a box/case and be able to run a stereo line into my living-room stereo system.

I understand I would need a phono pre-amp to allow me to go into an AUX line-in on the stereo. Is there a simple, inexpensive phono pre-amp kit I could build into the case that would run on power from the changer?

Has anyone here done something similar, was it successful?

Cheers

You can find them new for as little as $13.95 on ebay from vendors. Search for 'Phono Preamp'. The Pyle Pro is the smallest I've seen and I have had good luck with it. Best.
