Hi, All! I have sold a HUGE Magnavox console with AM/FM/RECORD PLAYER/REEL_TO_REEL to a 19 year old guy who absolutely LOVES it, but wants to know what it's worth. I professionally restored it for him before he purchased it (re-capped, new needle & cartridge, belts, etc. SOUNDS AWESOME!). I can't find ANY info on the internet about it, but a black-n-white ad about it. It is a model 1P3901. It is genuinely the BIGGEST, HEAVIEST & BEST SOUNDING console I have ever seen or heard in a solid state unit! Can SOMONE tell me what this unit might be worth? It has all the original manuals, books, mikes for the reel to reel deck built in, as if I was the original buyer! It it is stone mint & restored & works like NEW. He has his computer hooked up to it & he really likes it, but wants to know an approximate value now that it's restored. Can anyone help me? Regards, Ross

Hi, I dont know about values, but I have this same unit minus the reel to reel. This is a 100 watt unit The Cornith Astro Sonic 100. Made in approximately 1968. Actually, The largest Magnavox made is the Custom Imperials.Model 4141 The Connoisseur(which
I have)and 4143 The Espanole.There are also two models made in armoire form, 4125 The Ramona and 4123 The Castilian (I have both of these. Thee units have 150 watts of power, Have 4 600 cycle exponential horns, and 2 15 woofers,with the largest magnets,Magnavox used in the solid state units. The custom Imperial are RF remote controlled. Very few dealers sold these units,They are kinda rare and I'm fortunate to have 3 of them.Im a big collector of Magnavox from the late 60's to mid 70's. I have approximately 60 units, and around 30 pieces of component pieces. I only have 3 tube units as I prefer solid state to tube. Two of my tube units are Concert Grands,1 of which is an odd non- remote controlled unit........Michael

Values on most Astro-Sonics range from $25 to $150 (at least here in the Mid-Atlantic). This one may be slightly higher with the built-in tape deck and mint condition.

Michael It sounds like you have a vast amount of knowledge about some of the larger Magnavox

Hey, Michael,

Glad to see you're still around and kicking! I just finally got moved into my new house and still trying to get set up. I haven't been here in months, and I really miss all you guys (and gals) buzzing with questions and information. We're not allowed to use the internet for personal stuff at work, which is where I usually did my chat, and my home setup was pathetic. Finally got rid of the nasty, slow dial-up and went high speed.

I see a lot of Maggie questions on here and can't wait to go through them. I just thought I'd take a moment here to see what's going on and hope to become a regular again.

I moved from 800 sq.ft. to almost 1900 sq.ft. and this house is gonna be near capacity. You can't have enough toys, I guess. There may be a yard sale in the making, with all of these turntables, reel-to-reels, and who knows what else is packed in here and the garage. Did I say garage? I think that's where my truck goes...LOL. It's standing room only right now and I can barely walk in there.

Anyhoo, I hope to be back here real soon in the coming days. I hope Larry is still around because he is a wealth of knowledge, and you're no slouch either.

Hey Bobby, man, if you had a garage sale, it would almost be worth the flight over there just to see what you had!

I have my hands on a mint Ramona or Castilian model Maganvox ultrasonic (armoire type). Anyone have an idea as to the value of these things? I have to move it down threee flights of stairs and don't want to misstep. Thanks for your help
