This unit has not played for about 25 years. You can select a record and mechanism will scan twice and stop in the same place. After the battery test it did the same thing. You can trip the mechanism manually and it will load the record but when the needle touches the record it will reject the record. All help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to do, Cecil: STOP. Pull the plug. Order (or d-l) a service manual.

Let us know the actual model number. It should be on a plate at the back. Post a pic or look for pictures online to link to.

No electronic gear should be just plugged-in after a long period of dormancy. In the case of these heavily used commercial machines that is even more critical.

The reasons are simple; certain components will have deteriorated and can place both a heavy drain on other components or a dead short. Either will burn up other components including the expensive transformers.

The mechanism is likely bone dry and dirty. Bearings can be ruined by running them dry like that.

Get some written information. Learn about the machine so you can ask specific questions, then asses your own abilities and interest in restoring it.

Hi Cecil,
My advise would be the same as Rob's--almost--I would suggest strongly you purchase a Service Manual PACKAGE, from one of the suppliers listed above in the jukebox section. This is well worth the little extra as it gives you much more info.
Rob--Cecil has provided the model number in the "title" of this post--a "220S" !

Yep, Tunnel Vision strikes again. I saw the 100TM3 and ignored the rest.

Hi Rob,
In all seriousness, get your vision checked--I wound up being nearly blind a couple of months ago--got tunnel vision so bad, I was afraid to ride in a car--let alone drive it-I had no idea how much vision I had lost, up till about Monday of this week, when I fully recovered it--I think ? Ron Rich

Ron, I do appreciate the concern, I was just speaking figuratively.

Glad that you're back in-order though.

Hi Rob,
I was not too clear--my point was to all--get your eyes checked ! I did not realize that I had vision loss, for a long time--I knew "something was not right"--but I assumed it was just old age--went to the eye Doc every few years--got new glasses--last time I wanted to have my eyes checked, I found he closed his office--went to another Doc--she tested and tested me, then found my problem--operation needed---new glasses not needed !
