Ok finally got it working to some degree. The arms on the three switchs were slightly bent causing them to not close or open consistently . They would work very randomly. I also went through the wiring cleaning and re soldering the connections. Now it will pick the record up and put it on the turntable and play. The issue now is the gripper motor operates at the slower speed not the higher speed then step down to the lower speed when the tone arm is set on the record. When it removes the record it operates at the higher speed. Any thoughts?

Jim,
Rowe-AMi motors do not "slow down"--least they are not "supposed to". This model as all newer ones, use an AC motor. In view of that, I would guess the motor felts are dry. I use 20 wt. ND oil, and saturate both side felts--top and bottom. I don't recall seeing this problem, but you might check the schematic, on how it gets power--relay, or switch contacts could be failing ??
