I highly doubt autozone or any auto parts house would carry a lamp like that.

257 is a "flasher lamp"--14 volt -- -# 57, or #57X, will replace it, but won't "flash". Use caution whenever changing lamp numbers, if transistor driven, as the wrong lamp can destroy some electronic circuits. Ron Rich

ohhhhh that makes sense then. These bulbs are for the 'insert coin' and 'press reset' which you WOULD want to flash.
I'll stop being cheap and order some then, thanks!

On which machine ? Like I said--be careful !! MOST jukeboxes did NOT flash that light, or on the few that I know of, it was done electronically.

So my bulbs came in, but it doesnt work

I changed the coin acceptor to accept nickels, and if you put one in nothing happens, put two in and you get one play
I was hoping to see the "insert more coins" light flash after one.
All the solder points on the resistors and bulb connections look good

any ideas?

Im not really sure where to put a multimeter on it to check it out

Pricing configurations vary, by make and model. I assume that that phono is configured that way, and I would need to RTFM, to figure that out--
Perhaps someone else know it "by heart"--

Its a Rockola 468, I have the manual and it shows you how to accept dimes and nickels, and im sure the light should go on after one nickel but it doesnt

Does the manual show you how to "set-up"/change pricing ? Should be there-- Ron Rich

yeah there a switch on the credit unit to select what each coin gets you, and diagrams to tell you which screws to remove to accept dimes and nickels.

It seems to be working, one nickel does nothing, two gives you one credit.
I just expected the 'insert more coins' button to work after only one 5c
oh well not a big deal
