Hello all.
I have a Ami Rowe R 92 that has developed a hum through the speakers when the record transfer motor is placing a record on and off the turntable. It only hums when the transfer motor is running. The hum gets louder as the volume is turned up. I have switched out the mechinism, the central control computer, the amp and the output transformers to no avail. I suspect that the jukebox wiring may be faulty. is there a way I can ground the transfer motor to stop the hum. Thanks in advance.

Your mute appears not to be working properly. You could have had the improper amp for this unit installed, causing the circiut to fail. You can follow the circuit from the mute plug down the line.

Hello toomer7074,

John is correct in what he says, you need to follow the wiring on the mute plug back to the mechanism plug. The wire you need to check is the orange (or orange/black) if this wiring is open circuit it will not mute. It could be that the pin/socket in the Molex plugs could be pushed back or is corroded.

Hello all. I checked the mute relay in the amp and the wiring from the mute relay to the central control computer with a voltmeter. Everything checks out ok. I also switched the amp and central control computer to my R91and there is no hum. Both my amps are part no.6-09931-01. My R92 service manual states that I should have a 6-09931-02 amp but the compatibility chart says it should be ok. Is this my problem and is there anything i can do to minimize the hum without having to replace the amp. Thanks so much for the help .

Did you test CR31 & CR32 on the preamp board. Ron asked if the connection was solid from the mute plug on the preamp board to the chassic connection on the amp. Also test Q6 & Q7 on the CCC. These componets get damaged when parts are swapped in and out.
