Wurlitzer 1250 problem with cam/index-wheel

by mollos » Thu Apr 14, 2011 12:30 am

Hello to you all,

I'm new on this forum so this is my first post and I hope that anybody could help me out.

Since a couple of weeks I'm the proud owner of a Wurlitzer 1250.

I have two questions -at this moment- about this jukebox :

1. Should the index-wheel (and along with it the cam-wheel) be blocked/locked when the jukebox is playing a record? Mine isn't, so sometimes -when the cam-wheel is at it's dead-point of gravity- is swings through/out of place and the selector arm isn't aligned with the pusher of the record trays anymore. When I remove the spring of the selector-arm it's a bit better, but I think that's not the way to go.

2. It seems that the selections of the jukebox are mixed up too. When I select nr. 48 the jukebox plays nr. 12/36. I saw that the cam-wheel with the selector-arm could be rotate 180 degrees. I've done that but without any positive results. The other selections are mixed up too. Yes, I've checked the firing pins en the selector-cancel-arm on the mech and they seem to work fine.

Greetings from a Jukebox-fan

Mollos

Hello Again,

Update on the (selection)problems with my W1250:

I've repaired a pawl that holds the ratchet-wheel during the selection fase of the cam-wheel. It was a little worn out due to the years of functioning in the jukebox.

Sadly this isn't enough so it seems. The jukebox still makes the wrong selections and the cam-wheel with the selector-arm attached swings beyond it's point of gravity

Now I've been told that the mech's of a W1250 is the same as a W1100 and W1400 and W1600. Maybe somebody has got one of these jukeboxes and could tell me more about the blocking part of the index/cam-wheels?

Greetings From the Netherlands,

Mollos
