NSM Galaxy

Have a Galaxy with intermittent selection problem. Make a selection, carriage scans, picks up record, tone arm lands and then rejects. Make the same selection again and this time plays fine. Additionally sometimes after making a selection, carriage just keeps scanning left to right until i power down. Any NSM owners else ever experience this trouble? What was the resolve? I primarily work on seeburgs. This is my first interaction with NSM and there is no service manual.

Thanks

Rick

I can think of a few reasons for this:

- Broken cam lug on the control unit shaft (if this is the unit I am thinking of). There were two sequences on the shaft, so if one lug was broken, it failed on every other record.

- Loose mount on the position trip contact.

- Loose brake on the arm control cam, causing it to not stop when it is supposed to.

- Damaged wiring.
