Artist's real name?

by The Dude » Wed Jan 23, 2008 10:00 pm

Got some 78s on the Patio lable that are sung by someone named "Alford Jinks." It's sort of a tenor voice that sounds familiar, but I can't place it. Does any body know who it is?

Thanks!

It's 2-tone: lavender and tan with gold lettering.

It could p[ossibly be Vernon Dalhart. He recorded thousands of records using well over a hundred pseudonyms during a career that lasted from 1916 to 1940. He recorded for nearly every label in existence at that time.

it's quite possible also that it's Billy Jones. he used numerous aliases on many labels until his death in 1940.
