Rock OLA 449 Problem

hi guys

i have a rock ola 449 but the arm the takes the record is missing the record when its is taking it. what can i do to adjust it?

there are adjustments in the manual for alignment, the screw on the read out carriage can be used for fine adjustment. You need to select a record and move scan switch to off when the the gripper is just about to grip the record. Possibly the gripper unit needs lubrication as it might be slow in operating, is it a machine in use or have you just got it

I dis-agree totally here--IMHO you NEVER "adjust" anything, until you have analized, and discovered the reason that the problem exists....
In this case annalization is simple. Just play a record, allow it to finish, and "GENTLY" hold down on the edge of the gripper bow closest to you. If, it correctly picks-up the record ( or CD, in the newer RO's), as I suspect it will, the problem is lubrication--NO "adjustments" are needed, just some 20 wt. ND motor oil.
