There are some quieries on the old board which are "stuck."

People posted them there just before the changeover to the new board. They had no warning that those posts would never be answered.

Is there some way to move some of the unanswered recent ones to the new boards?

How to copy postings from the old message board to phpBB

On operating system level, unfortunately, there is no way of copying postings from the old database to the new one. The structure is totally different.

But, one way would be for the author to copy and paste the message into this new forum. It's only a few minutes work (perhaps even less). I'll explain below in case people are interested in doing so:

(this is for windows users)

- on top of this page click on "archives".
- search for the posting you want to copy either by browsing by category,
or searching on keyword.
- click on the posting
- copy the posting message body by placing your cursor in the message
body, then click ctrl+a (same time, should select all text), then click
ctrl+c (same time, copy's text to clipboard)
- register/login to this new forum (if using a registered name)
- go to the right category
- click "new topic"
- enter a subject
- place cursor in message body field and click ctrl+v (same time, pastes
text from clipboard)

This should do the trick. It can only be done 1 message at a time because of limitations of the clipboard. If ppl are interested I can make a webpage of these instructions?

There is another way I thought of earlier but I decided it would not be a good idea. I could copy some messages myself but the problem there is that the "poster" does not know where his/her message is, and it will not be posted under the name of the original "poster".

The method of copying and pasting a message is really the best way I think. But I welcome suggestions ofcourse!
