Maybe I'm playing with fire here, but has anyone ever thought of adding a "Timbre" control to their units? I've notice that on some chasses, there is an extra hole for an additional control of some sort, whether it be for balance, whatever, and you can't see it above on the faceplate.

I sorta like that "edge/bite" that a Timber control provides. It's truly noticeable in the higher-end models, and was just curious as to the addition of such a control on some of the smaller, lower-end units.

Hey, at this point in time, I'm too lazy to change a light bulb, let alone delve into something like that. Would just like to know your thoughts on such a modification. --BB

It could probably be done by someone experienced in circuit design or modification,

Zenith and Sears Silvertone had similar controls in their top of the line models, Zenith called it Contour and Sears called it
Mood.

It's a midrange control.
