Brunswick Cortez

by rv-customs » Wed Dec 15, 2010 3:41 pm

Hello Everyone I am new to the forum and am looking for some parts to restore my Brunswick Cortez. It has been in the family since new but has been neglected. While being moved numerous times over the years several parts were lost. The cabinet is missing the reproducer head, record drawers, door pull knob, RPM adjuster knob and the ID badge. If anyone knows where I can locate these parts please contact me @ rvrabel@yahoo.com
Thanks!!

Try George Vollema at Great Lakes Antique Phonographs. He has mountains of parts & his prices are more than reasonable. If George doesn't have what you need, he may know who does.

Congratulation on being the proud owner of a Brunswick Cortez. They're a beautiful machine with great sound, and I believe fairly hard to obtain these days.
It's a project well worth restoring!
Good luck.

I thought I was the only one who had one of these. Your cabinet looks like it's in good condition! I have a medallion that looks the same as the Cortez medallion, but it doesn't say Cortez. It is a Brunswick medallion. $10. Marc.

Marc,
George at victroladoctor had a reproducer and tone arm piece I needed. Please send a picture of the medallion to rvrabel@yahoo.com.

I had her fired up a few weeks ago, but noticed the motor was low on torque and would run down very fast. I pulled the motor and one of the mainsprings is just freewheeling, no tension at all. When I can scrape up some cash I am gonna have it fixed.

Marc,
Is it possible you could also send a picture of the RPM adjust knob? I am trying to match one up to replace my missing one.
Thanks, Ryan
