Wurlitzer 2910 Selection Issues

I have a Wurlitzer 2910 that is having some selection issues or rather it is only selecting a few records. While it will selected any record A-K it will usually only select number 5 or 0 and occasionally 4 or 9. I can manually trip the solenoids to give me the correct section so I know they all work correctly. All of the plugs are inserted in to their corresponding position so I know they are correct. My next thought processes is to remove the whole keyboard selection assembly and go in for a good cleaning. So unless anyone has a better suggestion that looks like my next move. I'm not new to working with electronics but this is my first venture into the world of jukeboxes. If we have any good technicians in the house any help would be much appreciated.

Hi James,
It would be my guess that you are on the correct path--sounds as if there are problems in the slide switch contacts--My course of action would be to remove the switch bank, remove the solenoid/ counter (if there?) and wash the keyboard in hot, sudsy ammonia. Rinse, Dry totally, and check slid action with a good analog style meter. Ron Rich
