hi there, im new to the jukebox scene, i had seen on the announce for this jukebox it had been in a restruant and told it lights up when plugs in but the condition is a bit unkown, would there be a 50/50 chance on the machine being in a possible play condition?
im told it doesnt come included with records and i do have some myself.

I suggest that you READ all of the "announcements" and "stickies" posted above--
I would guess a 40 % chance you will be able to make it operate -depends a lot on your skills.

Hi and hello again, welcome to the board.
You'll get a lot of helpful advice on here.
First step is to buy yourself a manual, so that you will be able to understand the terminology in answers to your questions.
Here's where to look on this board.

Hi
If it hasn't seen any use for a while chances are the gripper mechanism is gummed up, keyboard and slip rings on wobble plate would need cleaning along with motors. Amplifier would need recapping. Most rockolas I get unless they are missing parts can be brought back into action, have found with amps that either one channel or both channels would be dead. What kind of price is it, if its cheap enough its worth the risk if you are prepared to spend a bit of time at it

if it lights up then there could maybe a little maintence needed on the machine with getting it to work correct, hopefully it had been upgraded in the needle from its default.

I would assume that the "needle" has been changed (more then once) in the last 45 years! I would also, assume that "other things" have been done to it, and lastly, I would assume, that it needs to be "overhauled", or "re-built" by now---If you have electronic/mechanical skills, and you purchase the service manual package, you probably can do it. If you are not skilled in these areas, I would advise you not to purchase it, or, if you do, plan to pay for, and have a "pro" help you. Ron Rich

There should b a knob, reachable from the outside rear of the cabinet. This will work, if no-one has attached a "remote control" to the system.Ron Rich

that would clearly tell there might be life in the rest of the jukebox.

Hi, lighting up unfortunately means nothing, unless you just want a large living room lamp. So don't built your hopes up because the tubes work. Most jukeboxes like the one are describing can be brought back to life. So like the guys have said if you buy it. Then buy a manual before you do anything to it.
