I recently started a restoration on an AMI B with the model 500 record changer. I noticed that the turntable is a little floppy and dips up and down a bit.The turtable stem seems tight in the bushing, but the bushing itself wiggles a bit in the support table. I manually turned the mech through a transfer, and I can see that there will be a problem with the grabber alignment because the turntable does not stay level. It looks like this bushing is somehow pressed into the support table. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks, Carl.

Without seeing it--this is just a "suggestion"--
I would assume that either the bushing needs to be replaced or, at least secured in it's "housing"--If the later is the case, how about a little "JB Weld" ?? Ron Rich

Thanks Ron. I wound up getting a 1/2 " ID shaft collar. The OD of the turntable bushing measured 1/2". Had to grind it out just a hair with a Dremel, but then it slipped nicely over the part of the bushing the sticks out the bottom of support frame. I put on a neoprene washer first, then the shaft collar. Put a temporary bolt/washer/nut setup down through the center of the bushing to draw it tightly against the frame, then tightened the set screw in the collar. The metal on that frame is pretty thin and chincy.....the collar really stiffened it up around the bushing. Worked great... No more wobble.
