Bent studs in player

by Jukeboxhack » Thu Aug 18, 2016 8:09 pm

Just sitting here killing time and figured I may as well ask since it's on my mind.
Forgive me, I don'the have the manual handy so proper terminology is out the window.

I was going through the phono mech of my father's smc2, and I noticed one of the studs located next to the spring/bushing assembly was slightly bent. These studs look like they are either for locking the Assy down for transport or limiting it's bounce.

Do you think is may be an indicator of potential mechanical problems I just haven't found yet?

Well, Since "proper terminology is out the window-"-all anyone can do is guess--
MY guess is you are speaking of one of the four tie down studs/nuts --If so, as long as the 9/16 nuts are run all the way up and locked, and that bent stud does not rub on the frame,--itz OK--if it rubs-"realign" it -- And when possible RTF I&O Guide--- Ron Rich
