Okay..I ordered some new color sheets for my M100-C.

Any tips for the install? The sheets did NOT come pre- punched so I'm trying to figure out the best method for install? I have the spring coils, and new hardware that go top and bottom on the wheel hardware.

Also it there a proper way for them to be installed ( the sheets)? It seems like if they are rolled in correctly you could easily overlap a color effecting the animation colors?

I installed some new sheets a few months back.

I used the rounded ends as templates and rolled the sheets around until the colors lined-up and to the correct diameter. Then taped them together with clear tape. Mine had only the very smallest overlap in colors (which I cannot see once installed).

Mine were not 'pre-punched' however, the metal "rivets' (in the metal end rounds) pushed through the holes in the ends (of the metal rounds) and through the plastic sheets without any problem. Very easy.

These have been in operation for a few months and look great.

Thanks Gordo...I will give it a try. My metal pieces our toasted but the supplier included some hardware they are plastic though.

You could push the end caps onto the newly formed cylinders and make a very small drill hole using the holes in the caps as a guide.

Your advise worked great. Used more packing tape than I wanted but doubt anybody could see that through the pilaster!!!

Now just to add a motor, and a ladder chain!!! Is the bulbs standard for the animation sticks???

Mine are so worn I can read the numbers I assume they are a T12 bulb I suppose I could just measure the bulb?

You could, measure the lamp (pin end to pin end), or read (OMG !) one of the first few pages of your "Service Manual" -- or going from my great, but not too long memory, I could tell you--
As I recall, 24" T-12--or, possibly 33" T-12's ?? Memory fails now--gotten old---whichever it's closest too, is correct--I think---

I asked the question, not Gordo!

I checked the Service Manual page "1146". I did not see any of the specifications for the proper bulb size.

Sorry if I didn't notice it ...

I will measure the bulb, I have found in the vending hobbies that some of the marquee lights, and other lighting our sometimes special order. I assumed since this machine was relative to the same era that I may have to special order so really all I was looking for was a quick answer that somebody might know right off hand.

The lights are listed on page 1132 I believe, this is what I could see for the m100c.

It appears you have found your answers.

I am in Australia and tubes are very hard to find in some sizes. I found the 24" tubes (with some trouble), however, the 33" tubes are not available at all (in Australia). I installed a modern light in a size that I can easily buy tubes if required.

Also, I had to search very hard to locate the 24' tubes that were the 'fatter' ones. All the regular shops only sold very thin tubes.

Good luck with your resto, it is well worth the work.

FYI, the "T-8's" are the "thin" ones, and can be used in place of T-12's (fat ones) if, you don't need the fatter lamp to hold something like a color cylinder in place. T-12's should not be used to replace T-8's, in most cases--Ron Rich
