Hi all,
I ran into something I have never seen before--A Rowe R-84 that, sometimes, will not start the search after the 1st selection is made--always will do so on the 2nd selection being made, and will then play both ? Anyone have any ideas ??
TIA,
Ron Rich

Ron, check the foam rubber backing on the computer board for deterioration - if so, clean it off good and re-pad it.
And check the backup battery for corrosion.

Hi Ron,

Check out for dry joints (cold joints USA) on the header pins on the top and bottom connections on the Pricing Board and for that matter all of the pins on the boards.

I usually advise customers to check the the connections on the looms between the boards by removing the connections from the plugs in turn to make sure that there is plenty of pressure on the connection and that the connection is not tarnished.

The worst loom usually is the one from the CCC (P-105) to the mechanism control (P205) and it is usually the P205 end which is at fault.

Thanks, Matt, Alan,
Done did most of the above (OK--did not do price board--yet-gotta go back, as there is another phono there that needs work-) and it is very intermittent--usually works fine-- Ron Rich
