wurlitzer 2810 selector problem

when energizing ry6 by pushing the only micro switch next to main cam in 2810 , the main cam rotates raising loading arms about one inch then lowers them to home position. cam rotates causing tone arm to cycle and brush to move correctly, pin detectors move up an down but do not rotate. cam stops, must push reject to cause mute play switch paddle to move left to start position. record mag does not move at any time.
in the 2800 series manual the start switch is not shown for the 2810. not sure if this is the proble or maybe the carriage switch???? all selection pins are good. they come up on selection but no movement of mech.

where do i find a sequence of operation, flow chart or block diagram of the 2800 series ? for example:
1. power on
a. lights come on
2. put money in to give credit
3. select record
4. selector pin on pin assemble pops up
5. wobble plate contacts make
and so on....

If the words are not in the WurliTzer Service Manual ( and I don't think so), you need to read/pick it out of, the "functional chart" in the rear of the manual-- Ron Rich

Turn the knob on bottom of the changer motor in a direction that causes the steel cable to start pulling down and thus retract the turntable pilot. At some point while you are turning the knob the transfer switch should flip and the mech should take off and finish on it's own.

On these later models I believe the changer motor direction is controlled by a relay, so pitted contacts there are possible.

This paragraph was a lifesaver. After reading this on my none working 2810, I did this and noticed the transfer switch was missing the spring. Found something to use as a spring and after spinning the knob on changer motor the mech took off and finished on its own. Still not working but I think it is all adjustments now both motors work. I just need to find the proper spring or complete new transfer switch.

David, I'm glad that old post helped a bit.
I suggest that you start a new topic and list the problems on your machine.

Adjustments are often the last thing needed and can make problems a -lot- worse if you are sure of what you are doing.

On electro-mechanical equipment the typical causes of trouble are (in no particular order:

1 ) Lack of lubrication.

2) Pitted/broken contact points.

3) Broken or frozen parts and assemblies.

Accumulated grime is a big factor in the old machines too.
