Seeburg 100a problem

Hi all, we are almost done with our Seeburg A. still plays 78's. If an a and b side for the same record is selected it will load the b side then immediatly reject it and play the a side fine. It is odd because if you select any b or a side on seperate records it will play it just fine. I have gone over the flow charts in the manual, we have burnished and cleaned contacts, paying close attention to the a and b side relays. Any help you be great. thanks Mark

Hi Mark,
I do not recall the circuit in a model A, but what is happening is the second side relay is actuating the reversing relay to early. This may be due to a set of contacts on the mech being closed as the record is clamped. Going from memory--you can look at the book--the 1st side relay and the 2nd side relay are energized at the same-time- the reversing relay holds the 2nd side relay energized until after the 1st side is played, then at that point as the record falls back down, a set of contacts make, energizing the reversing relay and (if done late) the detent solenoid.

Thanks Ron; Yes the left(a) side relay stays energized during the entire play sequence for the right(b) side. I followed that back to the W switch for the clutch. Someone had really messed that up. with proper adjustment we are now playing a and b side correctly now. Mark
