I have a problem with the wurlitzer. Ok I plug the jukebox in the wall an the fluorescent lights come on. The turntable runs, but the magazine rack has no power. I have tuned the line switch on an off an nothing happens. The only way I can turn on the jukebox is plug it in the wall. I checked the fuses in the amp all good, so Is the problem the line switch or am I overlooking something. I have the service manual for it, still reading looking for the answer's.

Is the record magazine loading switch in the "load" position or is it in the normal (operate) position?

Do you have the manual for this machine? If not, buy one at www.victoryglass.com

It's Victory Glass # 23-1063 (R-256) Wurlitzer 3400 series Service & Parts manual, 125 pages, $35.00

Shows operation and loading of records too.

I'm not quite sure I understand exactly what the problem is--
Does the "line switch" turn off/on the lamps and the Turntable motor ? If so, it's working as it should. If the switch is "doing nothing", either it is bad, or has somehow been "bypassed".
Did you just get this machine, or have you had it awhile, and seen/heard it operate ? If you just got it, and you have transported it on it's side or back, without bolting it down properly for shippment, "anything" could have "fallen out", or been "banged up"----
Is the gripper arm over the turntable, or ALL the way down over the record rack ? Is the "latch" CB tripped

Yes the jukebox use to work good. Moved it from the garage into the house, sat in the backroom for about 6 months. The gripper is over the magazine rack. The line switch does not turn the jukebox on or off. I have to plug the power cord into the wall to get lights an the turntable to work. Bypass somewhere or the switch is bad. I will change the switch first. The load switch is in the normal operation. The magazine c/b I reset it also.

Do you have a service manual ? Are you sure that the gripper is ALL the way down, and making the "safety switch". Ron Rich

Yes the gripper arm is all the way down an making contract with safety switch. Yes I have a service manual. I took the line switch out today, went to Radio Shack. All they had were heavy duty ,,center off ,, 3 prong switch. My switch is a 4 prong on & Off. Will look somewhere else tomorrow.

OK--check the sequence of operation in the manual--I'm going from memory here---which is very good-just not too long !
If the safety switch is made, the magazine solenoid should be energized. When the solenoid has bottomed, the magazine should be free to turn. At this time, the solenoid switch should apply power (or ground) to the mag motor, thus causing it to turn the magazine.
On the switch--were all four "posts" wired? Most Hardware stores stock switches. Ron Rich

Sounds like your switch is a double pole single throw (D.P.S.T.) toggle switch.

Well Its not the line switch. On to the next step. Could it be the circuit break is bad.

Could be--is the solenoid energized? If so, the CB is ok. Check the CB, using a meter, with the power OFF (Un-plug the juke). Check the safety switch the same way--it also could be defective (or poorly adjusted), or the solenoid could be defective (if the CB "pops")--Ron Rich

All right ,the jukebox is running and playing records. It was a bad safety switch. Now the magazine rack won't turn. I'm getting a new magazine lock switch tomorrow & a circuit breaker. The service manual says the problem could be one of three. Magazine lock switch adjustment ,circuit breaker or a bad magazine motor. Hope its not the motor. Can the motor be repaired? Thanks for everyone's help.

Ok I'm still looking for a circuit breaker its bad. Where can I find one. Went to several stores today nobody had one. How many amps is the circuit breaker? I'm guessing 3 or 4 amps

Use a fuse holder, and a fuse.
I have never checked it myself, but have been told that those solenoids draw 4.5 amps upon initial surge, and aprox 2.5 when "energized" and fully seated. I have used 3 amp FB fuses, to fuse similar solenoids, thought I am un-sure of exactly what value is really correct, as it's possible for it to draw more amps, in that application--Are you sure the the solenoid is not "shorted", causing the CB to open? Did you remove the CB? Sometimes the value is printed on them--
