Replace Turntable in Zenith ML2670

by paula+murphy » Fri Dec 27, 2013 7:23 pm

Hello! I inherited my Grandparents Zenith ML2670. Sound is great for the radio but I think the turntable needs to be replaced - I can spin vinyl manually but the turntable will not spin on its own. Any suggestions on the most suitable replacement?

Thanks!

Those Zenith "made by Voice of Music" changers are quite nice once overhauled.
They use a special low-output light-tracking cartridge in them, and it's best to stick with that system for the proper sound.
Some models used a Zenith-made high quality belt-drive changer - those too, should be overhauled and enjoyed.
Trust me, I've done them, stick with the original.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

I think your model has a belt drive changer. You do not want to replace it. Have it rebuilt and you will be much better off.
Vinyl is disease which attacks that area of the brain desiring digital recordings. Once you catch it, you are cured.
