Wurlitzer 2900 Top Tunes

by cg591 » Fri Jul 24, 2015 4:26 pm

I'm restoring a 2900 and would like to get the Top Tunes and Golden Bar feature working again. I have all the components for that feature. I have everything on the bench (except the record changer) at this point, and am able to establish credit with the Playrac and make selections to the pinbank with the button selector. I have the manual, but it doesn't talk much about the Golden Bar sequence of operations. I guess I'll start here... Should the Bar itself light up with enough credit?
Seems dead at this point. Bulbs are OK:) Any help with how this feature is supposed to work would be helpful. I've done several other jukes, but this is my first Wurly, so go easy on me:) Thanks, Carl.

Hi
I had a 2600 with a 'Top Tunes' that I got to work.
I think you will find that the novelty will be short lived. It makes a LOT of noise and just trips the 10 pins in one go.
I disconnected it after about a week.
However the yellow bar makes the machine look more interesting and I always leave the button on if its there.

Regards
Ross
