Newbie member with an Old time Magnavox

Hey all,
I recently inherited a very large Magnavox turntable/ radio console. Attached below are photos of it. I'm basically trying to get some information on it, and whether or not it may be worth some money, or worth saving. My mother tried to throw it away, but I figured i'd at least give it a chance to survive! It is in beautiful condition, with only a minor scratch on the lid, and is missing one knob. The turntable operates, the record arm moves, the lights turn on, and the radio tuner works. However the speakers are not operating properly, they make noise, but its very muffled and and scratchy. I would assume the wires are shot..
Anyway, can anyone help me out with this thing? What is it? what is it worth? Where to go to sell it/trade it/give it away? I'm basically trying to give it a lease on life, because otherwise its going to be tossed out... Thanks!
