Rock-Ola Doubling Credits

My Rock-Ola 474 is adding two credits when I deposit a quarter, despite all the dip switches in the credit circuit being set to off (25 cents per play).

When I flick the quarter coin switch on the slug rejecter sometimes I can make it work, but the coin always adds two credits as if the switch is contacting for too long.

Any ideas on what may be causing this would be appreciated.

If you are triggering the switch with your fingers, anything could be happening. Coin switches are timed. If you are using a coin, I would suspect the de-bounce circuit has failed, or, most likely, the coin switch is very dirty/mis adjusted. Ron Rich

Thanks Ron,

As always your advise was priceless. A quick spray with the old "DeoxIT D5" and checking of gaps and it's all working like new.

Keith,
Glad to help--
Now I would suggest that if the coin switches are easily removed, you do so, and wash them with hot, soapy water--then rinse them in hot water, and of course, dry totally before using. --Deoxit leaves a residue, that is not well tolerated by that type switch. If you can not remove them--use a plastic-safe, safety solvent to wash off the Deoxit. Ron Rich
