Plugged in my jukebox after about a year and heard a pop. Everything works but the sound. I have very low volume and when I turn the volume up nothing happens. I just got a manual and looks like it has a lot of fuses and some circuit breakers. I can find to many of them. Any suggestion would be appreciate.

Look in the manual for "Audio checkout" proceedures. I don't have the manual for that model, but most RoweAMi books include it---Which amp is in your phono ?

On the amp it says 125 watt amplifier 6-07438-04
It has a 3 amp circuit breaker on it , I pressed it but nothing happen.
It also says 5 amp mth - 5 fuse (4 under chassis) Looks like you have to take it out to get to them.
On sound quick check it says Disconnect mute plug and press the circuit breaker. I only saw 6 holes when I did that, nothing to press.

I found a copy of the IMHO, poorly written, Service Manual, and am assuming that you are reading page 70---
Remove the mute plug--leave it out, and unplug the large "AC cord" going to the amp for a few seconds. Then plug that cord back in--do you now get the "thump"--on both channels ?

I unplugged the mute plug then the power plug.Waited 10 seconds and plugged power cord back in and got a thump. Put the mute plug back in. Tested it and still no volume.

Well, follow the instructions further --

I did everything The book said and still no sound. Just wondering if you could take a guess at what part I would need to buy. If you are wrong no problem. At lease I have a place to start. I still have low volume and turning the volume knob does nothing. Again thanks for your help

Did you short out the pins as indicated in step 2, WHILE PLAYING A RECORD ?--if so, what was the outcome ?
Did you check for "hum" as per step 3, once again, while playing a record, and the volume turned up ?

A friend came over today and looked at my jukebox. He is a school teacher. I wanted him to jump the pins in step 2 in the book in case I did it wrong. Nothing changed the volume stayed the same , low. He said lets pull the amp and we did. It had smoke around the CR20 CR25 capacitor on the pre amp. He could not check them because we did not know the value of them.

Well, what can I say--I think it's time to call a pro--I don't know for sure, as I can not get to my copy of the schematic, or parts list at the moment, but I doubt anything marked "CR" is a capacitor. You should also check the part numbers on your CCC and mech control and see if they are
compatable with the amp. Look at the mute circuit componets on each board. A bad circuit
on the amp could cause the CCC circuit to blowup and them if someone swapped parts out it could damage the next circuit. You can follow the trail with out the schmatic. ORG/BLK wire.

Hi George,

On the 125 watt amplifier where the volume control plugs into the pre-amplifier are two pre-amp lamps marked DS1 and DS2 check that the two very fine wires have not broken on the lamps (or the lamps have broken off the circuit board) without a lamp in circuit you will not have any volume on that channel.
