Rock-ola 468 help

by fishookred » Sun Jul 17, 2016 8:46 am

So I just bought a 468 jukebox for $40 in fully working order . . . well sort of. so there is a nasty hum, the records sound somewhat distorted and the L/R channel balance is way off. can this all be fixed by recapping the amp? what else should I look to repair?
also how do I remove the amp? is it fairly easy to recap? and where do I buy a cap kit from?
any advice would be appreciated
Thanks!

Well, my advise would be---
1. UN-plug your jukebox and leave it that way ! IMHO, you could ruin your amp, at this point by powering it up.
2. READ the above posts, in this, the jukebox, section--parts and service manuals/schematics, are available.
3. If you have the skills, a "cap kit" MAY be all you need--but-- there are many other things in an amp that can "go bad". If you are not familiar with amplifiers, I would suggest you should get a person that is, to help you, or send it to a "Pro"--Enjoy-- Ron Rich
