I picked up a Magnavox Magnasonic the other day. I think its a 55 or 56. The date code on the speakers is the 44 and 45th week of 1955, and its got the green tuning eye which from what i understand it only came one year in teh older mono version of this small console. Going through it and one of the things that needs attention is the TT. I have a 59 imperial with a 4-speed Callaro that has the size sensing in teh tone arm. But the one I need help with is a 3-speed Callaro that has the finger and the overarm that goes around the spindle. The headshell is removable and its got a round cart thats 'switchable' via a small rocker that rotates the whole cart for either std. or LP. There is no needle in the cart. I want this to be a functional unit, i have no problem tracking one down, but i dont want to spend a stupid amount of money on a cart. And what I really need to knwo is what kinda cart it is cause I cant find any info on it at all!

So ya, what model Callaro is this? and what the heck is the cart in it??

That collaro tone arm looks like it was fitted with a Magnavox Head shell. My 1956 collaro has the same head shell but the top is covered and you can switch needles by flipping a lever on the bottom.
In other words, in 1956 they deleted the rocker that switched the needles.

That is a Collaro RC-54 or a variation.
