Exactly--if that is a graphite based grease, as I suspect, the SAE 20 oil will "soften" and "re-new" it.
Can you turn the gripper motor by hand ? Ron Rich

Like many hobbies, this one requires patience, the natural urge is to try to get it up and running as soon as possible.
But if you take your time you will be rewarded in the long run for it.
Remember, a jukebox was designed to run up to twelve hours a day seven days a week, so a lot of engineering went into them, so they deserve the care and attention needed to bring them back to a good standard, which then should continue to give you good service for a number of years yet.

I'm hoping so!, The Gripper and Basket turns a little back and forth, no more than an half an inch or so of movement.

Too True, It has Lots of potential but If Jukeboxes were easy, Everyone would have one

I HOPE you are not attempting to turn either the basket itself, or move the gripper itself ?? These are "movable by hand", ONLY by turning the Knurled screw on the rear of the motors--any other "attempts" at moving them WILL cause damage !

Yes, as Ron says attempting to turn the carousel will put a strain on the gear mechanism as there will be a huge "mechanical advantage" doing that. Try working the cylinder at the base of the gripper arm, after using some penetrating oil on it. this should be able to spring a few millimetres towards the carousel. But don't use the gripper arm as a lever.

You'll see how all the ways it should move, when you turn the knob on the end of the gripper motor in this video.

You'll also see there's no grease visible on my machine. The limited amount of "home use" they get means they don't really need it.

Here's the lubricating oil I use, but only a couple of times a year.

Hi Guys sorry for the delay, Yeah the Basket turns about half an inch so it isn't seized and we've turned the jukebox back to the starting position by hand (Knurled Post). We're going to go over it with a multi-tester and find out whats getting power
