Hi, I'm not a forum regular, just someone looking to take advantage of the experts this place is sure to be crawling with.

I picked up this player a few years ago, and everything worked great. However, I had to store it for about a year and a half after moving to a smaller place that didn't have room, and only recently pulled it back out.

While the radio and RCA input work just fine, the record player seems to be playing records just a hair too fast. It's subtle. Subtle enough that if you weren't familiar with the music you're listening to, you might not even notice.

So, what do I do now? Is this a common problem with an easy fix? Any tips on at least troubleshooting before I call in someone to repair it?

Do I have any chance of finding a user's manual for this beauty?

I don't know much about this machine, but I sure want to be taking full advantage of it. Any help/advice is GREATLY appreciated.

That is a symptom of owning a V-M record changer with a two-pole motor. It was designed to be a bit too fast with one record, and a bit too slow with ten. All of them do it.

does anybody know the type of cartridge/needle this player uses?
