Rowe CD100G Weak Sound...Left Side ????

The top left Speakers on my Rowe cd100g jukebox hardly put out any sound. I have swapped the cd inputs going into the amp with no change to the audio level. I even swapped the pink and purple wires on E6 right to left and back, this had so change on the output of the left speakers. I am not even sure if the tweeter is putting out any sound. The bass speakers are working great. Any Ideas?????

Determine which wire --vio, or pink, is the weak one--dis-connect it, and move the other one to E-3--play something and swap
the wires--if both sides are even doing this, the speakers are OK--If not one speaker is bad. If the left one stays low, check the cross-over for bad/broken components/crack/plug connections, in PCB, or poorly soldered header. Ron Rich

Ron thank you for the information. this is what I found

Did some more testing both left and right speakers play the same when hooked up one at a time to
E3. Last night as I was testing I thought that both sides sounded the same when hooked up to the left side E6. Tonight as I moved wires back and forth I can see now that left side E6 is weak no matter what speaker I hook to it. I also looked over the crossover and could see no visible sign of broken parts or bad joints. Brent

Hi Brent,
That would indicate the problem is prior to the E-6 connection. Most likely it's internal to the amp--or it could be prior to the amp. Flip the two input connections and see if the weak side changes--if not, it's about an 80% chance that the amp is having problems. Ron Rich

Finally got back to my jukebox, swapped inputs to amp, left side stayed weak. Took the amp out of my cd100A juke box and put into the 100G. Left side still weak. put the amp from the 100G into the 100A and it works just fine. So what's next, speaker transformer or cross over or?????????

Did you remove the xover and l@@k carefully at the solder joints? I would--also check the plugs--are any "bent in", dirty---?
If no problems found--check the caps--and I have seen a resistor, or two, go bad on those xovers-- Ron Rich

I have taken the cross over out. looked it over and all joints look good. checked connections and cleaned them. All components on board look good, but I have not tested any of them. One thing I did notice is that this cross over is the same one that is in my cd100A. The cross over even says cd100A on it with parts number61052701. I am under the impression that all the cross overs from 100A to 100J are the same or will interchange. I go on ebay and see three or four styles of cross overs with different parts numbers and they say it will work in a 100 g. Do I have the wrong cross over in this box?

You will need to look at the parts books--I think they are interchangeable--but I'm not sure--Plugs the same ?

Wow.... do I feel stupid....I am embarrassed to even post his, but I owe it to Ron for taking the time to respond back to my posts. I have about pulled my hair out on this one. So I decided to stop thinking I knew anything about Cd100 jukeboxes. Open up the manuals and just look at everything as If had never worked on one before. Was not going to pass over any steps and diagrams....Got to violet to E6 pink to E6 black to E1....On my gosh there it was. Black to E1 not A2.. How did I miss that it was right in front of me. Why the previous owner moved it to A2 I am not sure. Everything works great now and it sounds much better. Once again Ron thanks for your help
