Seeburg TSA-10

by rvalkenburg » Thu Nov 20, 2014 5:57 pm

Have a problem with the TSA-10. The left channel transistor comes up as 0mv while the right 4.9mv. I have tried adjusting the bias on both sides on the 306997 Voltage Amp Boards and no matter the direction up or down the right stays at 4.9mv and the left at 0. I have tested the transistors individually out of the amp and they read fine ohm wise. I have tried swapping the transistors (just left side) and the issue stays in the location so the transistors are fine. I recapped the unit and put it on my dim bulb tester before connecting it inline and seems fine in that manner. I have reviewed the schematics for the TSA-10 and validated all wires are connected and to the proper location.

Would this be more of an issue with the Voltage Amp Boards for the 2 channels or the Intercircuit Board (306970-2)?

So definitely have an issue with the Amp but again pinpointing issues is still progress.

Thank you for your assistance...

Ron,
Didja swap VA boards--if still the same, I would assume it's on the ICB, or the chassis, somewhere--(You did, I hope, notice that the service manual is incorrect in ID'ing the VA boards) Ron Rich

I was wondering if the doc was wrong but I did not see that being listed in the Errors in printed docs sticky you had.
I have not swapped the VA boards yet, that was my next thing to try to see if one board was bad or not.

Hi Ron,
Yes-I forgot about that error--but it's one of many "minor" errors ( in THAT SM !)-- And it's VERY easy to spot !
