Rowe CCC and Mech Control Schematics

by Andy J » Thu Mar 25, 2010 3:53 am

Can anyone tell me where I can get schematics for CCC#60887002 and Mech. Control #40722101 in a Rowe R-84? I can't seem to find them anywhere. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!ANdy

Hi Andy,

You need the Rowe Ami Shop Manual part number 3-65355-07 that was first produced in September 1981. You could try through Rowe Ami or www.victoryglass.com

Is there anyone who might be willing to send me a scan of these schematics? I don't have the funds to buy yet another manual for this juke. All I need really are the values of a few burned resistors I found in the mech control. Thanks!
Andy

Hi Alan!
I guess I'll start out by saying thank you, and giving a litle background as to the problem I'm having with it.It works fine selecting the correct songs, but only with the CCC in test mode.It doesn't return home when powered up, but senses "home" when I adjusted the optical switch. (but still does fine with song selctions). The amp never mutes, so at higher volumes, you hear everything that's happening, i.e. rack spinning, stylus hitting the brush, and on some records, it'll blow your ears out when the arm sets onto the record.Upon checking things out in the mech control, I found resistor R-208 completely decimated, R-220 burned, and R-211 & R-203 darkened.I'm hoping replacing these will take care of the issues, and that the damage isn't more extensive.
Thank you again!
Andy

Hi Andy,

Here are the values of the resistors all are 1/4 watt 5%.
R203 3.3k ohms this is in the TT circuit
R208 220 ohms this is in opto switch circuit
R211 220 ohms this is in the transfer motor signal circuit
R220 220 ohms this is in the mag motor signal circuit

With regards to the mute are you using a rowe ami amplifier?
Is the mute plug in the amplifier?

Andy,
One other "quickie"--check that the mute plug INSIDE the amp (on the "underside" of the large PCB) is actually inserted onto the contacts--they have a "habit" of falling off--Ron Rich

Thank you Alan and Rich.... The Amp is i believe the original, and everything is whre it is supposed to be. I pulled the plugs out and plugged them back in again, still the same. still hisses when idle, along with the other issues I described earlier. The amp doesn't shut down when the juke is shut off, either. This thing sat for 10 plus years, and I'm trying to get it going properly as a wedding gift for my fiancee. I've been into antique radios since I was 8 years old (my father was a radiotelephone engineer), and a juke is brand new to me.Getting laid off kinda put a financial damper on this project. I also forgot to mention that the rear cancel button does nothing but mute the volume.......

Andy,
You are welcome--glad you have fixed it--now if you really can "repair the ground", you have prospects for a great future! I will hire you to fix my ground, as it is too wet in one area and too dry in another. Ron Rich

Simple solution....Do what I did.....CONCRETE! All I need now is a weedeater and power washer!but then again, my yard is only 15x25.......the rest is garage and driveway.....
