Seeburg 100A Animation Motor Replacement

Hi

Anyone have any experience with replacing the animation on a Seeburg M100A, if so do you have any guideance to offer on the easiest way to get to the motor to replace it?

Appreciate any input you may be able to supply.

the easiest way would be to remove the title strip glass. Otherwise you will probably drop all the screws.

That makes sense as you would gain more access by removing the title strip glass.

Going from my great, but not too long memory---and slightly mixed up memory, between the model A's different versions, and the model B's--I think you do need to remove that glass simply to reach in "there"--but, I also seem to re-call that the screws can be prevented from "being lost", by removing the tray, and sticking a towel into the hole---???

Please stop talking about losing screws! I cannot count how many of them have tumbled into the jukebox abysss that is about 2 foot by 3 foot to never be seen again. The use of a magnet tool to retrieve the hidden screw sound great but rarely works, or maybe its just me. I lost hundreds of them before I wised up to the old towel trick that works fairly well, although I have found screws that can outwit the towel as well. I already have the key board out so it would be a small matter to open that front up where I can get at that motor by also removing the glass and the animation tray

You talk about memory Ron, well I am at the point where I have no problem taking the thing apart, however if we did not have cameras handy to make a record of what it should look like, I doubt if I could get somethings back together. What makes it worse is that many times the parts list manual does not have parts listed that you are holding in your hand or it shows parts that you know you never took out of that jukebox
