Magnavox "Suitcase" Player and Silvertone 5065 questions.

by thewanderingthinker » Tue Oct 08, 2013 4:59 pm

I have a Magnavox Micromatic "suitcase" player with a model number of what I think is 4SC242F, Serial No. 1621057, and a Run number of 4. The paper tag has water damage so I'm not 100% on this. I also have either the Sears Silvertone 5065 or 5067 (hard to tell with the B/W photo in the owner's manual) that has a Chassis No. of 32863221, Record Changer Mech. No 32857840 (I'm guessing on the first two numbers), and Silvertone Cat. Numbers 57-5824D (Needle) and 57-5823D (Cartridge). I have searched and searched for a dealer that sales needles, cartridges, and tubes for these models and I cant seem to find anything so I was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction. Also if you can point me to schematics for theses players I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

For the schematic diagrams, google Sams photofact. that will lead you to a few sites that can help. have your model # s handy. as to the needles try needledaddy as to the tubes google radio tubes and you will be led to many sites that sell tubes.

Consider that this unit will require recapping. Chances are the tubes will be fine.
