A few years ago I did a Rock-Ola 1493 and I gave it to the nephew. It had been in Germany so we had to do all the power supply swapping stuff to return it back to USA power usage besides disassembly, lube, adjust, amp, etc. Other than an occasional bit of normal maintenance it has worked well. The magazine motor has gotten somewhat noisy these days or at least it seems to be the motor during magazine rotation. I need to take a better look/listen. It getting hard to get down to do that stuff these days. I need a hydraulic jukebox lift or new legs.

I have a nice motor, part number 34368 from a mechanism I always thought was from a 1493, never looked too closely. The 1493 (nephew's machine) should have a 34668-A motor. The nephew's house is a looong drive and I did not pull the noisy motor when I was there so I do not have the part number directly from that noisy motor until I make a return trip.

If the mounting base is the same and the gear teeth are the same size/number as my possible replacement motor I see no reason it would not work as a substitute? Thanks As Always!! (yeah, the Seeburg V you all helped so much with is functioning well!) Thanks!!

Hi
I have mixed motors both gripper and basket motors from the 1493 up to the 484, the only difference is the connection points. The motors can be opened up and cleaned as grease and dirt can build up

Hi David,
I have interchanged many--only caution is that you do not change gripper motors, for basket motors--
Also have "shut-up" many a RockOla motor by opening the gear box, and "schmearing" the grease that had been pushed aside, back onto the gears--and adding a drop of 20 wt. oil on ALL bearings-- Ron Rich
