Cd100e digital display issues

by spudgunman » Sat Dec 14, 2013 2:40 am

I have a digital display for a cd100e it's not lighting up but I have red glow from the filament wires. So assume it's sealed atill.

Any ideas to fix it common failure points?

Man,
"A sealed" what ?? Don't recall ever being able to see filament on those displays--however found many of the earlier ones that had bad solder joints, on the PCB, and maybe mixing this up--but also bad driver chips. Found a few that the sealed tube failed---see schematic-- Ron Rich

You can get it "repaired/exchanged" locally at both Mountain Coin and Specialty Coin.

A sealed tube... The filament normally would blow out if it wasn't sealed.

Solder joints look dandy. I am ordering the driver chips

Killing me ken. yea I can pay someone to fix it. But if that was the way I wanted to go I would just build a digital jukebox that is disposable.

Man,
Going from my great, but sure unclear, memory, on this--
Rowe used too many different "versions", for me to re-call, so, the following may or may not pertain to yours.
I have found (too) many that the transformer, failed on--seems like there was a physical reason for this--?? Also, seem to remember that they used at least two suppliers for the tranny--

yea your memory seems to match what I see, looks like my voltages are good.. I did throw a transistor and my only guess is that it blew a chip.. I have bad logic so just sitting around waiting for china shipping now.. if I get this online I will have a bench-test CD100 Juke to start testing my "evil plan"

I have some hope.. if I power cycle the display unit rapidly I get some garbage on the display so i know my gas display works, its likely in the logic now! (also my CCC is tested working.)

That kinda proves the old saying--"garbage in-garbage out"!
