Securing jukebox for moving

by wingnut049 » Sun Sep 20, 2015 2:17 pm

I have a Wurlitzer 2504S. I'm moving this coming weekend and need to know how to secure the mech. When I bought it the seller did something behind the jukebox under the mech that took very little time but I didn't see what he was doing. Help. Thanks.

Hi Wingnut,
On that model, going from my great, but not too long memory, I believe that there are four "captured wing-screws" ( not nuts! ), under the mechanism shelf. One needs to "push down" on the shelf to start the screws, and one should use bailing wire to secure the screws. I also advise you refer to the sticky post above about "moving a jukebox" for more info-- VERY important on WurliTzers that play records in the vertical position, tie the tone arm down so the "balance spring" is not dis-lodged !! (very difficult to find in that mech, and if not found, just replaced {iffin you can find a replacement}, it will "jam something" !!)
