HELLO - can either Eng Bo or Joe_DS kindly tell me how to post pictures in your messages please? I can't see any link that gives me the option to insert picture etc? There is an Img button, but when I click it it just pits the letters: Img in the text? Thanks!

Hi Steve:

You've got the right idea. After you click the IMG button, the IMG bracket or "opening tag" appears on your screen. You then paste the Image's URL, starting with HTTP and ending with JPG right after that (no spaces) and then you click the IMG button a SECOND time to complete the "Tag." It would look something like this:

(IMG)Http://your_image_goes_here.jpg(/IMG)

(I've substituted "(IMG)" for "[IMG]" in this example.)

You should then click the PREVIEW button to make sure that the image shows up.

As noted, any image you paste must have a URL, which means it must be hosted on a web site. There are a number of FREE hosting sites that allow you to take an image stored on your PC and "upload" it so that it is hosted on the web. I've always had good luck with Image Shack -- http://www.imageshack.us/ (Just follow the instructions on the screen).

Working example:

(img)http://mypage.iu.edu/~lrobins/collo2e.jpg(/img)

When I substitute the [ for the ( and the ] for the ), I get:

Thanks Joe_DS.

That's useful info' for future reference.

As my current pictures aren't already hosted anywhere, I won't try to put them up. I thought everyone else was simply putting on any pictures they had from their own pc's. (pasting directly etc).

The machine I wanted to show, I've just sold now anyway!
